Beach Trip 2018 - Emerald Isle, NC

Everyone needs an Uncle Ed!
He is my kind, silly, and generous Uncle who worked hard to make this special beach trip happen. His mission was to get 100% attendance of the 6 Aunts/Uncles and all 7 Cousins (plus their families) at Emerald Isle for a week of fun.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
And what a wonderful week we had!

It started with getting our family of 6 on two planes and a car ride to the East Coast. Although it was a daunting task our kids really did great and we would absolutely do it again. Maybe next time we can figure out how to keep them from rolling on the airport floor and putting seat buckles in their mouths **sigh**

As soon as got to the beach the kids (and I) ran out to see the ocean. You should have heard their giggles - pure joy!

Judah wasn't a fan of the waves this year...but he liked the sea foam.

The cousin beach house for the week

Caught these two chillin' up on our 3rd floor balcony enjoying the view.
"This is the life!"

**The Original 7 Cousins**
Although we live in different states we have a close bond from growing up playing together every summer on this beach. It's fun to share our childhood traditions now with our spouses and kids.

My heart was full as I watched the next generation of cousins play together!

Hannah and Peyton
These two reminded me so much of my cousin Marjorie and I many years ago.
Our little mini-me's

Bethany was the center of attention most of the week : )

The oldest 2nd cousins playing tic-tac-toe

My little loves

Game time on the porch with Mimi

Dig time on the beach with Grandy

Judah enjoyed playing in the sand this year

Bethany was a pretty chill baby at the beach. With 31 people there was always someone to give her some love : )

There was a nice sandbar during low tide and Hannah loved jumping in the ocean waves with me.

My mom did an amazing job planning the family meals, activities, and brought everything our family needed so we didn't have to fly with it. THANKS MOM!

Benjamin, my Dad and I kayaked to a small island (in the distance) and explored it. Benjamin said this was his favorite part of the trip.

Benjamin looks so big out there on his own!

Back to the house for lunch on the porch

Dinosaur exhibit at the NC Aquarium

That's my man!

A sweet smile before Bethany got sand in her mouth and the moment was OVER

I love to see the joy of discovery at this age

"I see you"

**One of my favorite pics from the beach**
Judah is starting to loose his baby toddler look and becoming a little boy

Hannah found many treasures on the beach
"Look Mom! Look!"

He searched all week for a shark's tooth

**Me acting excited about a piece of a shell for the thousandth time**
Part of being a Mom : )

Got to spend some much needed quality time with Frank

It was nice to spend a few days with my brother and Brandy

Judah and Brandy sifting through sand to find treasures

Frank and Benjamin sailing with my cousin Ben

Chill time waiting for dinner

Evening walk on the beach

Big brother flying a kite wearing his favorite NEON orange shorts

Back-Scratch train

This little girl didn't care that the pool was freezing - She swam every day

Hanging out by the pool

We had a stomach bug sweep through the whole family. 16 of the 31 people on our trip got it.
Kids watched a couple movies as they recovered

Feeling better and back on the beach!

Beach hair don't care

Father and Son

Nothing like naps after playing hard all morning in the sand and sun

"Hey, who put a hat on me?"

After dinner putt-putt with Hannah and Benjamin

Again, a special THANKS to my Uncle Ed for his most generous heart!

Looking forward to this being a new family tradition that will continue for many years to come.
